The club was formed last year when Dave (aka WJS) and Colin Inglis, the founder members, had a St Andrews cross (Scottish) flag made up with "Aberdeen Branch Ayr Utd Supporters" on the front.
At the first game this was displayed (at Montrose, Sept 95), we met two other Ayr fans from Aberdeen. Then there were five. On a roll, we put a small advert in the local paper and even had a short slot on the local radio. As a result of these and the grapevine sourcing other people, we now have 15 members, 12 from the Aberdeen and 3 from further north. All of us are originally from Ayr but have relocated north at some point, maintaining a strong affection for our great club. We are now an official supporters club recognised by the club - only 1 of 3 at the last count. Our ages range from 21 to 52, though most of us are in our early 20's to mid 30's.
